The people of the Philippines are very happy with the performance of President Rodrigo Duterte, a survey by Pulse Asia showed.

Pulse Asia released the results of the Ulat ng Bayan national survey on the performance of top national government officials on Friday, showing that Duterte continues to enjoy a high performance rating at 86%.

Meanwhile, 66% of the respondents said they approved of Robredo’s performance as vice president, and 61% positively responded to Pimentel’s work as Senate President.

In terms of trust ratings, Duterte got 86%, Robredo only 65% trusted her while Pimentel earned a 55% trust rating.

As for other top government officials, Supreme Court Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno had an approval rating of 46%, reflecting a “plurality sentiment of appreciation” for her work, while House of Representatives Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez registered virtually the same approval and indecision ratings (43% and 42%) the survey showed.

Both Alvarez and Sereno obtained virtually the same trust and indecision ratings:  41% and 45% for Alvarez; and 44% and 42% for Sereno.

The nationwide survey was based on a sample of 1,200 representative adults 18 years old and above. It has a ± 3% error margin at the 95% confidence level.

Poll reveals 96.2 % of readers want abolition of pork barrel

Poll, news Philippines, corruptions

A poll created by inquirer.net shows that majority of the Filipino readers want the abolition of pork barrel may it be for the Senators, Congressmen, or President.

As of the present, 27,885 readers or 96.19: of the readers voted “Yes” in response to the INQUIRER.net survey that asked, “Do you agree with the proposal to abolish the pork barrel?”
Only 2.78 % or 805 votes said, “No” while 1% or 300 said, “I don’t care.”

The number of participants tripled five days after President Benigno Aquino III announced the supposed abolition of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF). His statement, however, was met with criticism since it was revealed that lawmakers will still be allowed to propose itemized projects under the General Appropriations Bill.
