A video of a taxi driver in the Philippines went viral. In the video the taxi driver can be heard cursing and threatening to hurt his female passenger. The female passenger who took the video is Joanne Garcia. She said she hailed the taxi (UWB-666) last Tuesday from SM The Block in Quezon City, their destination is the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) main office in Ortigas, Pasig. Upon reaching their destination, Garcia said she gave Catipay P200 for the P140 fare that is on the taximeter but the driver demanded P250. She said the driver started cursing and threatening to hurt her when she refused to step out of the cab without getting her change.
Garcia said that the driver seems to be under the influence of illegal drugs.
The rude taxi driver is Roger Catipay, the operator of the taxi company has already taken him to the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) office to answer the complaint filed by his passenger Joanne Garcia.
Catipay ask for her forgiveness, but the passenger will push through with the filing of cases against Catipay to prevent him from doing the same to other passengers. He refused to undergo drug testing.
"Patawarin mo na ako Ma'am, di naman kita nasaktan eh," says Roger Catipay. @InqMetro pic.twitter.com/zJh8OeMoBf
