Wesley So, Chess, US Chess Championship, Sam Sevian

Wesley So (ranked 8th in the world )is one of the best chess player in the world, which is why it is shocking that he got trounced by a 14 year old kid Sam Sevian. This is Sevian first US Chess Championship and he beat out a Super-GM.

Wesley So was expected to challenge Magnus Carlsen, the current World Chess Champion. The number-two US player isn't supposed to be losing in the third round to a kid who just became a GM.

Sevian played the black pieces and it ended after 41 moves of a Queen's Gambit, with is ready to mate in 6. In the final position, you'll see the powerful rook check the white king  and Sevian holding a bishop and a pair of knights, it was just a matter of few moves that So would get checkmated, so he resigned.

Sevian is tied for fourth to eighth places with 1.5 points with his only win of the event so far.
